Santa Monica,
Calif. – Video game publisher
Activision (NASD: ATVI) was sued this week by the heads of its Infinity Ward studio, who say
they were wrongfully fired by the company on Monday.
The pair of executives, Jason
West and Vince Zampella, allege that Activision fired them before they were due
to receive millions of dollars in royalty payments from "Modern Warfare
2," which has topped $1 billion in sales.
They are seeking at least $36
million in future royalties, and an injunction against Activision that would
prevent the publisher from releasing any further "Modern Warfare" or
"Call of Duty" titles.
Activision maintains that it fired West and Zampella for breach
of contract and insubordination
