Calif. – Sony’s (NYSE: SNE) Gracenote music
identification and metadata service on Wednesday announced an expanded
long-term agreement with Civolution, a provider of video watermarking and
fingerprinting technology. The companies will jointly sell Mediahedge, an audio
and video content identification platform that "enables content filtering,
monitoring and monetization for content owners and Web 2.0 service
providers." Gracenote will market Mediahedge in North America and Japan, while
Civolution will manage European markets.
