– EPIX, the pay-TV and Web video portal joint venture between Viacom (NYSE: VIA), its
Paramount Pictures unit, MGM and Lionsgate (NYSE: LGF), on Monday announced its first
nationwide distribution deal with DISH Network (NASD: DISH).
The agreement will bring the
EPIX channel, offering 15,000 films and other content, to DISH Network’s 14.1
million subscribers.
EPIX previously secured carriage agreements with Verizon
FiOS, Cox, Charter, Mediacom and NCTC.
EPIX said the service will be available
to a total of more than 30 million homes by May.
