Cupertino, Calif. – Apple (NASD: AAPL) has begun shipping the free iPhone
4 bumper cases it promised consumers as a remedy to reception issues caused by
the device’s external antenna.
Customers who placed their orders on July 16,
when Apple announced the free case offer, are beginning to receive emails
notifying them their cases will arrive as soon as Aug. 3.
The free case offer
remains in effect though Aug. 22, for iPhone 4 owners who purchased their
smartphones before July 23, while those who bought their phones after July 23
have until Sept. 30 to order a free bumper case.
