Tokyo – Japanese wireless network operator NTT DoCoMo on
Wednesday announced plans to launch an e-book distribution service, through a
partnership with local publisher Dai Nippon Printing Co. Slated to launch in
the fall, the e-book store will initially offer 100,000 titles to DoCoMo’s 56
million subscribers. The companies said they are also discussing a joint
venture, ties with publishers and device makers, and expansion into overseas
markets.
