Schaumberg, Ill. – Motorola (NYSE: MOT) announced on Thursday that it
has acquired Aloqa, a developer of location-based software and technologies for
smartphones.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Munich,
Germany-based Aloqa’s technology lets publishers with location-based content
push content onto mobile devices for free.

Motorola will integrate Aloqa’s
technology into Motoblur, its service that delivers customized content to
mobile devices’ homescreens.
