Stockholm, Sweden – Sweden’s Pirate Party did not fare well
in the recent European elections, failing to garner enough votes to hold a
place within the country’s Parliament, TorrentFreak reported. In 2009, the
Pirate Party — among whose goals is to legalize non-commercial file-sharing —
got over 7% of the vote, and secured two seats in the European Parliament.
However, the recent election shows the Pirate Party lost much of its support,
receiving only about 1% of the vote.
