Santa Monica, Calif. – Movieclips.com, a site offering
licensed, embeddable movie clips, announced that it has closed a $3 million
first round of funding.
Participating investors included Shasta Ventures, First
Round Capital and prior backers Richmod Park Partners.
Angel investors included
Jeff Clavier, Aydin Senkut, Naval Ravikant, Jeff Kearl and Tom McInerney.
Launched
in 2010 Santa Monica, Calif.-based Movieclips.com offers more than 14,000
licensed movie clips from the major studios.
The company will use the funds to
invest in discovery tools.
