Waterloo, Canada – Research in Motion’s (RIM) (NASD: RIMM) new BlackBerry
PlayBook tablet computer will begin shipping in North American in the first quarter
of 2011 and sport a sub-$500 price tag, co-CEO Jim Balsillie told Bloomberg. By
comparison, Apple’s least expensive iPad costs $499. RIM plans to expand
distribution overseas in the second quarter, to countries including South
Korea.
