Paris – Online personals and dating service Smartdate
announced on Monday that it has raised $5 million in its first round of venture
capital financing, led by PriceMinister co-founders Pierre Kosciusko-Morizet
and Pierre Krings.
The company previously secured $2.5 million in seed
investments from 360 Capital and angel investors in early 2010.
Smartdate said its service has become the top French dating site, in terms of
unique visitors, and has expanded to become available in six languages.
