Bethesda, Md. – GroupFlier, a start-up that has developed a
free group text messaging service, has raised $500,000 in a seed round from
backers including Novak Biddle Venture Partners.

Bethesda, Md.-based
GroupFlier’s service allows members of a group to become reachable through a
single texting number, remedying the problem of sending email or texts to
multiple people on various mobile phones.

The unique group number can also
serve as a party line for the group.

GroupFlier said it soon plans to add a
geo-location function, allowing members of groups to check in and keep tabs on
the location of others.
