New York – Apple (NASD: AAPL) on Tuesday launched the first
"iAd" format campaign for the iPad, with an interactive spot for
Disney’s (NYSE: DIS) upcoming sci-fi sequel, "Tron Legacy," AdAge reports.

An
Apple spokesman told AdAge that the Tron ad — which includes nearly 10 minutes
of video, a theater locator, a soundtrack preview with purchase links, and the
ability to send email from within the ad — will be the only iAd for the iPad
to run in calendar 2010.

Apple is expected to launch the iAd format for the
iPad more widely in early 2011.

The iAd format was introduced for the iPhone in
April.
