New York – Former Newsweek president Mark Edmiston on
Wednesday launched Nomad Editions, a new media firm that will offer weekly
digital publications for mobile devices like the iPhone and iPad. The venture
launched its first four titles — Real Eats, Wide Screen, Wave Lines and
BodySmart — on Wednesday, and said it will soon publish a weekly with National
Geographic Traveler. The titles feature some 20-30 minutes worth of content,
and users can subscribe for $6 for a three-month period. The content is
produced by freelance writers, who will share "substantially" in
revenue generated, the company said.
