Washington – Korean consumer electronics firm LG Electronics
has filed patent infringement complaints with the U.S. International Trade
Commission (USITC), seeking a ban on the import of Sony (NYSE: SNE) products including
Bravia TVs and PlayStation 3 game consoles into the U.S., Bloomberg reported.

The
company has also sued Sony for patent infringement in federal court in
California.

The filings by LG against Sony come after patent infringement
claims recently made by Sony against the company, both in court and with the USITC.

Sony’s claims at USITC allege that LG mobile phones are infringing seven Sony
patents, while its lawsuit targets LG Blu-ray disc players.
