San Mateo, Calif. – Digital Chocolate, a developer of social
games, said on Tuesday it has raised $12 million in its fourth round of
funding, led by Intel Capital.

Previous backers Sutter Hill Ventures and
Bridgescale Partners also participated.

The company, which last year became one
of the top five game publishers on Facebook and also achieved more than 100
million mobile downloads, said it will use the funds to further expand its
scale, cross-platform capabilities and geographic reach.

San Mateo, Calif.-based
Digital Chocolate’s titles include Millionaire City, MMA Pro Fighter,
Rollercoaster Rush and Tower Bloxx.

The company now has raised $55.8 million
since its inception.
