London – Online games publisher We R Interactive announced
on Friday that it has raised $5 million in a second round of funding.
Investors
included Paul Fitzsimons, former EMI head Elio Leoni-Sceti, Peter Mead, Fru
Hazlitt and Eric Fellner.
Launched in July 2010, London-based We R Interactive said
the funds will support ongoing development of its first title, “I AM
PLAYR,” which launched in March, as well as for expansion into music and
fashion-related titles.
The company’s first game is a soccer title that interjects live action
video, storytelling and first-person perspective to follow action both on and
off the pitch.
