San Jose, Calif. — Apple Corp (NASD:AAPL) filed a lawsuit Friday against Samsung Electronics Co Ltd  in South Korea claiming the company infringed on several of their patents, as reported by Reuters.

Samsung allegedly “slavishly” copied Apple’s iPhone with their new Galaxy line of mobile smartphones.

The lawsuit comes just months after Apple filed a similar lawsuit against Samsung in the U.S. for the same patent claims. Last week a federal court judge asked the two companies to solve their problems outside of court, noting their past close relationship.

“It is no coincidence that Samsung’s latest products look a lot like the iPhone and iPad from the shape of the hardware to the user interface and even the packaging,” a spokesman for Apple in Korea said.

Samsung has yet to comment on the lawsuit.
