Vienna, Va. – Grotech Ventures, the Vienna-based technology venture capital firm, has led a new $7 million round of funding for North Carolina-based 6fusion, a developer of cloud infrastructure management software that aims to turn the public and private cloud into a pay-per-use billable utility.

Intersouth Partners, which led the company’s first institutional round last August, also participated in the second round.

“There are a lot of startups currently focused on cloud computing, but 6fusion’s ability to federate data center operators and drive value across the IT channel sets it apart,” said Grotech’s Lawson DeVries, who will join the company’s board of directors.
