New York – Amid a rash of recent high-profile departures, AOL on Monday named John Reid-Dodick as chief people officer, tasked with attracting talent and heading the company’s human resources activities.

Reid-Dodick most recently served as the global head of human resources for Thomson Reuters Markets, the 28,000-person division that included the Reuters news organization and the firm’s media, technology and financial services businesses. He will be based in New York.

The news comes after AOL in recent weeks lost executives such as Brad Garlinghouse, the leader of its Silicon Valley operations, and reportedly was on the verge of losing TechCrunch CEO Heather Harde.
