Scripps Networks Interactive Inc. has acquired RealGravity Inc., an online video publishing technology company. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Scripps said its motive was to enhance the digital video capabilities of its growing lifestyle media businesses. RealGravity’s co-founders Luke McDonough and Sid Conklin, along with all ten company employees will join Scripps Networks Interactive.

Founded in 2009, RealGravity has developed an easy-to-use, efficient and more affordable online video platform. It brings together production, syndication and ad sales into one integrated system, and makes content searchable and accessible.

Scripps Networks Interactive complements on-air television programming with online video, social media areas and e-commerce components on companion websites and broadband vertical channels. The company’s media portfolio includes HGTV, Food Network, Travel Channel, DIY Network, Cooking Channel and country music network Great American Country.
