Mountain View, Calif. – WatchDox, a Mountain View, Calif.-based developer of tools designed to access and protect documents on any device, said on Thursday it has raised $9 million in a new round of funding, led by Blackstone.

Shlomo Kramer, Gemini Israel Funds and Shasta Ventures also participated.

In addition to the investment, Blackstone said it has implemented WatchDox‘s platform to provide employees with highly secure file sharing across devices, such as iPhones and iPads. The company last raised $9.25 million in a round of funding led by Shasta Ventures, which closed in Jan. 2011.
