Starting today, viewers anywhere are invited to watch live HD video streams of President Barack Obama and other speakers at the Newspaper Association of America’s mediaXchange 2012. The service is a first for the event and will be provided by Syndicaster, which powered the on-demand clips for mediaXchange in 2011.

Addresses by Gov. Mitt Romney and International Monetary Fund managing director Christine Lagarde are also among those being streamed during the conference. The schedule and videos can be seen here.

“We are delighted Syndicaster will be used to provide unfettered public access to these high-profile addresses in real-time and HD,” said Sean Morgan, CEO of Critical Media, which launched Syndicaster in 2008.

More than 450 television stations and over 150 newspapers use the cloud-based Syndicaster platform to create and publish both live and on-demand video clips.

Obama and Lagarde are the scheduled speakers at the annual meeting of the Associated Press on April 3 during NAA mediaXchange 2012. Romney will speak at a joint luncheon with NAA and the American Society of News Editors on April 4.
