Cartoon Network is making sure kids aren’t stuck in front of the TV set all day. The Turner Broadcasting System division announced today that it will be streaming its on-air content live on CartoonNetwork.com and via Apple’s iPod Touch, iPhone and iPad.
The network consistently ranks as top for boys 6-11, a demographic that indicates how universal mobile, online and over-the-top television viewing is becoming.
Stuart Snyder, president and chief operating officer, Turner Broadcasting’s Animation, Young Adults & Kids Media, said the initiative was part of parent company Time Warner’s commitment to its TV Everywhere strategy while speaking at Cartoon Network’s advertising upfront this morning in Los Angeles.
“Soon, viewers will be able to catch Cartoon Network anywhere and everywhere – whether they are in front of their television or maybe even at the airport waiting for a flight, we will be available for viewers to experience the live telecast seamlessly,” he said.
Cartoon Network is currently seen in 99 million U.S. homes and 168 countries around the world
