Univision Deportes signed a multi-year deal with soccer team Chivas de Guadalajara that includes all platforms and all languages, making it possible for the network to provide U.S. fans with the anywhere, anytime access to content that today’s audience expects.

Chivas de Guadalajara is often considered the most successful team in Liga MX, Mexico’s premiere soccer league in Mexico, having won 11 First Division titles and never having been relegated. The team has more than 2 million Facebook likes and almost 700,000 Twitter followers.

This agreement grants Univision Deportes the rights to all of Chivas’ Liga MX, Copa Mexico and worldwide friendlies across all platforms.

Juan Carlos Rodriguez, president of Univision Sports, added, “With Angelica and Jorge’s team and support, Univision Deportes secured the first ever multi-media, all language, multi-year deal with Chivas. We will continue growing all of our platforms and are proud to be the new home for Chivas in the U.S.”

Univision Deportes’ portfolio also includes rights to the 2014 FIFA World Cup and the qualifiers in the lead up to the tournament, the Mexican National Team, U.S. Men’s National Team, the Under-23 Mexican National Team, Major League Soccer, the FIFA 2013 Confederations Cup, the FIFA Under-20 World Cups, the FIFA Under-17 World Cups and the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup, among other sports licenses.
