Quarterback and cultural phenomenon Tim Tebow will be online tomorrow, reading the Dr. Suess classic Green Eggs and Ham in a nationwide webcast.
The event is this year’s America’s Biggest Storytime, an annual celebrity webcast created to motivate children to read more and to help develop a lifelong love of reading. It’s part of the Book It! National Reading Incentive Program, a six-month program for young students that was founded in 1985 by Pizza Hut.
Tebow, whose webcast will begin at 8 a.m. CST, said Green Eggs and Ham was his favorite childhood book. In return for his participation, Book It! has made an unspecified donation to the Tim Tebow Foundation, which is dedicated “to bringing faith, hope and love to those needing a brighter day in their darkest hour of need.”
Chris Fuller, director of public affairs at Pizza Hut, said: “Similar to his drive and determination on the football field, Tim has shown a passion for reading and encouraging literacy among today’s youth. Tim’s personal connection to literacy, along with the mission of his foundation, makes him the perfect host of our 2012 webcast.”
