World Golf Tour Lands $10 Million for Online Game

– World Golf Tour, the operator of an online golf game, has raised $10 million
in its third round of funding, led by JAFCO Ventures, VentureBeat reported.

Previous
investors, who include Panorama Capital and Battery Ventures, also
participated.

Founded in 2007, San Francisco-based World Golf Tour will use
some of the funds for expansion overseas, as well as to develop a version of
its online game for Facebook, CEO Yuchiang Cheng told VentureBeat.

The
free-to-play game, which counts around 500,000 active monthly users, generates
revenue through the sale of virtual items, like branded golf clubs and balls.

Comcast to Offer 3D Broadcast of The Masters on TV, Web

– Comcast (NASD: CMCSA) plans to offer a 3D broadcast of the upcoming 2010 Masters golf
tournament, which it was announced today will feature the return of Tiger Woods.
The Comcast 3D feed will be available on 3D-enabled televisions and computers from
a dedicated cable channel and the Masters.com website. About two hours per day
of 3D coverage will be broadcast from the tournament, which runs April 8-11.

MOG Music Service Coming to iPhone, Android

– MOG, the operator of a network of user-penned music blogs and a digital music
subscription service, on Monday introduced new mobile versions of its music
service for the iPhone and Android platforms. Set to launch in the second
quarter, the mobile version will charge $10 for unlimited access to 7 million
songs, which can be cached to the device for listening when a connection is
unavailable. The service will also allow users to download any song or album
from MOG’s library, in addition to user-created playlists.

Digg to Revamp Website, Add Raft of New Feautres

– Social news aggregation service Digg plans to launch a comprehensive redesign
of its website and service, which will enable one-click Diggs, user-selected
tagging, and more personalized homepages, among other features. Another new
feature will "mine the Twitter streams and Facebook feeds of each
logged-in Digg user, pulling in popular stories from those platforms that match
the user’s interests," Digg CEO Jay Adelson told Wired.com. The new design
can be previewed at a link below, while a full public launch is not expected

an on-demand subscription service in the next few months that will
"combine elements of Pandora, Rhapsody and Spotify," Wired.com
reported. Listeners to the free radio service who pay to upgrade to the coming

Universal Music Releases "Six-String" iPhone Game

guitar-simulation game application for Apple’s iPhone. "Six-String"
challenges users to pluck, strum and change chords while playing along to master
recordings owned by Universal. The $4.99 app comes with six tracks, while more

Report: Yahoo to Buy Mobile App, Game Developer Citizen Sports

bolster its strong sports content business, Yahoo (NASD: YHOO) is expected to acquire
Citizen Sports, a developer of sports apps and games for the iPhone and Facebook
platforms, AllThingsD reported, citing several unnamed sources.

The blog pegged
the purchase price at upwards of $50 million.

Officials from both companies
have declined to comment.

Founded in 2005 as ProTrade, San Francisco-based Citizen
Sports is the developer of the popular Sportacular iPhone app, as well as
several other fantasy sports games and Facebook apps.

PowerReviews Gets $6.1 Million for Customer-penned Reviews

– PowerReviews, a provider of customer-penned reviews to online retailers, said
on Tuesday that it has raised $6.1 million in a new round of funding, co-led by
Menlo Ventures and Tenaya Capital.

San Francisco-based PowerReviews provides
customer reviews and social merchandising tools to more than 800 clients,
including Orbitz, Radio Shack, Toys R Us and Staples.

The company,
which now has raised nearly $30 million since its inception, also operates
product review and recommendation site Buzzillions.com.
