Santa Clara,
Calif.
– ZillionTV, the provider
of a Web-based video-on-demand service, has received a $10 million investment
from Qwest Communications, Multichannel News reported.

Founded in 2007, Santa
Clara, Calif.-based ZillionTV plans to launch its service commercially later
this year, with partners including Qwest.

The service will offer a library of
over 15,000 movies, TV episodes and other videos, licensed from partners
including Disney, Fox, NBC Universal, Sony and Warner Bros.

Qwest counts nearly
3 million high-speed Internet subscribers in 14 states.

  1. The lawsuit is crazy. I guess ZillionTV has a $13 Million pay deal with Warner Bros. that they never paid and the deal violates their contracts with all the other studios.

  2. Close read of the lawsuit shows that the Qwest investment is over a year old. What is real news is that the company has put all 27 remaining employees on furlough for 2 to 6 weeks and will force them to work for half pay after. The reality of ZillionTV is that the STB doesnt work and no engineering remains (CEO Berman said last September when he laid them off that they had nothing left to do); What makes ZillionTV unique: $50 MM burnt and nothing to show for it. Even Akimbo did better.
