Video search engine Blinkx has launched a new in-house targeted advertising
platform, TechCrunch reports. The site currently handles 17.5 million searches
a day across its network. The targeted ads will only be served on the company’s
own Blinkx.com, with advertisers able to target Blinkx users who have been
sorted into demographics with titles like "Yoga Moms," "Digital
Dads" and "Gossip Girls." TechCrunch posted a video interview
with CEO Suranga Chandratillake, who explains the new targeted advertising
system.
