New York – The European Commission has joined the U.S.
Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC) probe into Apple’s policies on third-party
mobile software developers, the New York Post reports, citing sources.

The FTC
in June began looking into Apple’s decision to block developers from using
third-party tools to create applications for its iPhone and iPad, and to block
Adobe’s Flash from its iOS platform.

The Post’s source says the investigation
could last up to six months.
