Columbia, Md. – Aegis Mobile, a developer of mobile Web and
compliance tools, said on Tuesday it has acquired Baltimore-based mobile
marketing agency Vesta Mobile for an undisclosed sum.

Marcellus Alexander III,
Vesta’s co-founder and president, has joined Aegis as marketing manager.

The
company said the acquisition will allow it to expand its services, including
mobile application development and website mobilization.

Vesta’s TextFlow
technology is designed to give clients the ability to monetize, communicate and
interact through text messaging.

The news comes just weeks after Aegis, founded
in 2005 by Rich LaPerch, launched its Apollo mobile Web content management
system.
