San Francisco – Ustream, a provider of live video webcast distribution
services, has laid off 4.5% of its staff, or 9 of 200 employees, TechCrunch
reported.

"This is about us looking forward, we are totally pumped about
our future and this is a way to get ourselves conditioned to meet our
goals," Ustream vice president of communications Lynn Fox told TechCrunch.

Founded in 2006, San Francisco-based Ustream raised $75 million in second round
funding in February, and recently launched the ability for users to offer
pay-per-view live streaming video events.
