Boston – ScanScout, the privately held, Boston-based provider of an in-stream video ad network, has been acquired by Tremor Media for an undisclosed price. Founded in 2005 by two friends from MIT, ScanScout’s technology analyzes audience behaviors to find the segments advertisers want, and catalogs billions of content data points across its network of sites, allowing the company to determine the category of an ad destination before it is served. Tremor Media said it will now have 40 salespeople in 11 offices throughout North America and Europe.
