Ra’anana, Israel – Celeno Communications, a maker of
semiconductors for multimedia Wi-Fi home networking applications, announced on
Monday that it has raised $12 million in new funding, led by international
cable TV provider Liberty Global.
Previous backers Cisco, Greylock Partners,
Miven Venture Partners and Pitango Venture Capital also pariticipated.
Founded
in 2005, Israel-based Celeno’s chips are used to distribute multiple and
simultaneous HD video streams to standard set-top boxes, PCs, TVs and other
Wi-Fi-enabled consumer devices.
In September, Liberty Global chose Celeno’s
technology to power its multimedia home gateway.
