Mountain View, Calif. – Google (NASD: GOOG) on Tuesday released its
official Google Voice for iPhone application, bringing the service that offers
features like voicemail transcription, free texting in the U.S., cheap
international calls and a unique Google Voice telephone number to Apple’s
smartphone. Other features include push notifications when a user receives a
new voicemail or text message, and "direct access numbers" for most
calls, which the company says will "make them connect just as quickly as
regular phone calls."
