Mountain View, Calif. – Appcelerator, the Mountain View-based developer of a mobile platform for rapidly developing mobile web apps, said it has raised $15 million in a new round of funding.

Mayfield Fund, TransLink Capital, Red Hat, eBay, Sierra Ventures and Storm Ventures participated in the round, which the company will use to fuel expansion into Europe and Asia, as well as continue developing its flagship platform.

The company, which last closed funding in Oct. 2010, is currently the largest third-party publisher in the Apple and Android marketplaces, with over 30,000 mobile apps on 30 million devices.
