Boston – Zmags, a Boston-based provider of technology for designing rich media advertising campaigns, has raised $7 million in a round of venture capital, the company announced on Tuesday.

Founded in 2006, Zmags helps retailers and brands design marketing and merchandising campaigns across social, mobile, tablet, and e-commerce platforms.

Its technology is intended to drive customer awareness of products and inspire impulse purchases. Zmags ranks No. 70 on the Deloitte 2011 Technology Fast 500.
