Cambridge, Mass. – Recorded Future, a Cambridge-based news and social media content aggregator, has raised $12 million in venture capital, which was led by Balderton Capital, according to published reports.

Recorded Future has around 25 employees around the globe organizing the web with linguistic and statistical algorithms that extract time-related information and “temporal reasoning.” Its customers include Fortune 500 companies, and financial institutions and government agencies.

Other investors in Recorded Future include Google Ventures, Atlas Venture, IA Ventures, and In-Q-Tel, an investment firm affiliated with the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).
